Cheap Radiators are Basic Not Inferior

If you are going to replace some of your radiators, now is the time to do it. You do not need central heating right now so the inconvenience of having to turn your system off for a day is no hardship.

If your budget is tight you need to know that cheap radiators are not inferior to their more expensive counterparts.  They are just mass produced and basic models.

Although these heaters are basic they have a modern twist and they will heat your home up just as well as the fancier designer models. New modern radiators are very energy efficient and they will look nice in any home. They may be delivered to you in a standard colour, but you need to know that they can be painted any colour when you have had them installed.

Having said this, if you are thinking of buying cheap, you must make sure that you are purchasing a reputable brand. Cheap imports sometimes slip through the health and safety net and you may think that you have secured a good deal.

You need to know that although these imports have all the right markings, the working parts may have been produced in a country where safety is less important than a sale. It has been established that about 50% of all electrical fires are being caused by faulty electrical appliances.

It is a much better idea to find a reputable online retailer who sells bona fide products. These you will be able to find if you read social media reports. A good retailer is not going to sully its reputation by selling you sub-standard radiators.

Once you have bought your cheap radiators there is much you can do to lower your energy bills. If you insulate the loft and the walls you will immediately trap more heat in your home. You can also turn down heaters a degree or so, especially in bedrooms. This will make much difference.

In rooms that face north you may want to double glaze the windows.
