How A Modern Boiler Can Save You Pounds

There is a company called Zehnder radiators who have, by joining with a German company, been able to sell their products the world over. We in the West think of all things produced by Switzerland or Germany as being well made and top grade.

Although tubular heaters have been used for a long time, even by the Victorians, it is rumoured that the company were the first to manufacture these.  The modern varieties are a good deal more efficient in distributing heat more efficiently.

Of course a radiator would not work if we did not have a boiler to drive our central heating system.  So it makes sense when purchasing new heaters that we should have a good look whether our boiler is still up to scratch.

The boiler has a pump attached to it that drives water through pipes to all the radiators in the house.  This is a continuous process when the system is on.  In earlier times there was no way to lower temperatures in every room.  The radiator was either on or off.

Nowadays we can fit thermostatic valves so that the heat in rooms we do not use much or bedrooms where temperatures need to be lower in order to have a good night’s sleep can be regulated.

Most heating systems have a thermostat that regulates the overall heat in a house.  If you have valves that are thermostats too, you should ensure that the main thermostat is not positioned near one of these radiators.

The most efficient boiler these days is the condensing boiler.  This appliance uses most of the waste heat that normally escapes through the chimney by heating up the cold water in your system.  This makes the boiler much more energy efficient, thus saving you much money.

It needs to be pointed out that the water that is produced by converting the gases is more acidic than normal so you should ensure that you should use piping that can withstand the corrosive effect that this water causes.  The modern stainless steel radiators are perfect for this purpose.
