When It Looks the Best in the Bathroom

One of the great things about the new generation of designer radiators is the many different finishes in different metals and colours.

The days of the dull white radiators are numbered.

For a number of years stainless steel and chrome have been popular finishes with heated towel rails in bathrooms. The point about both these finishes is the plain fact that they do not rust.

Best of all is the chrome finish. Chromium is number twenty-four in the periodic table and is tougher and more resistant to heat and water than iron or steel. It is difficult to accidentally scratch and polishes to a beautiful finish.

Damp is the enemy of bathrooms and kitchens and chrome radiators are best in both of these rooms.

With the wonderful new designs in radiators that mostly come from Scandinavian and Western European countries we suddenly realise that there has been no reason at all why superb shapes and designs have not been possible in the past.

Instead of the radiator being the simple afterthought add-on to the finished new building, the radiators themselves can even inspire the design or at least be fully incorporated into the original design concept.

It seems that designers of five star new hotels and fancy new office space have known about this long before the average householder did.

New stylish radiators can add a touch of class to the room and instead of being hidden away can hang on the wall like a modern painting.

One could almost forget that they have a function to provide heat. That is almost an afterthought when you first view these new designs.

The finish can be painted any colour you wish and some look good in a matt black where others, particularly the spiral and conical shaped ones look particularly good in that chrome finish.

Motorcycle aficionados known how good highly polished chrome can look and its numerous advantages over plain steel is obvious to the eye of the beholder.
